* Important Notes<\/strong><\/h3>\n

1.<\/strong> All pigeons should be clear of worms. Deworm birds just before breeding season. (dewormed every 6 weeks).<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Pigeons should be vaccinated against Paramyxo virus 4-6 weeks before breeding. Pigeons should not be\u00a0allowed contact with other pigeons for 14-21 days.<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> It is IMPORTANT to give Calcium supplement (Calcibird<\/a>) before and during breeding.<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> The use of Probiotics (Entero Plus <\/a>or Intestum<\/a>) decreases bowel disease and leads to more healthy young.<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong> ALWAYS give your pigeons a Multivitamin & Mineral twice weekly as a routine supplement:<\/p>\n

(Aminovit H<\/a>; Vitaton 34<\/a>; Viroban<\/a>)<\/p>\n

6.<\/strong> Once eggs are laid and adults are sitting for 5-7 days you need to treat for Canker (Cankerex-Plus\/Emtryl\u00a0or Meditrich or Medizole ect.) for 3-5 days.If treating for canker before breeding season, treat not less than 4 weeks\u00a0prior to paring pigeons up as it can affect fertility. Do not treat pigeons with Emtryl\/Cankerex while they are\u00a0feeding their young.<\/p>\n

7.<\/strong> Give Intestum<\/a> approx 2 days before hatching and then for 5 days continuously after hatching.<\/p>\n

8.<\/strong> Cock<\/a> and Hen Fertility<\/a> tablets should be given as per written instructions on container to any old or known\u00a0problematic pigeons.<\/p>\n

9. <\/strong>Things to look out for: When breeding birds are on their second or third round of youngsters a lot of fanciers\u00a0complain that the old birds are consuming large amounts of grit and minerals and drinking excessive amounts of\u00a0water with lots of watery droppings. In many cases this is an indication of a salt (electrolyte) imbalance and in\u00a0most cases this can be corrected by using Medilyte for 3 days in water and Aminovit H added to the corn.<\/p>\n

10.<\/strong>We also think all youngsters should be vaccinated against Paramyxo virus at weaning age.<\/p>\n
